Australia - Cairns Brisbane

Depuis quelques semaines maintenant, nous longeons la cote est de l'Australie. Plein de nouvelles découvertes tant au niveau des paysages absolument magnifiques, que des animaux (qui parfois nous font peur).
Petite anecdote, Sylvain l'autre soir faisait la vaisselle, lorsqu'en relevant la tête il s'est retrouve nez a nez avec un magnifique serpent. Celui ci descendait tranquillement de l'arbre qui se trouvait a cote du robinet. Je ne vous explique même pas la frayeur, heureusement il n'était pas dangereux.
Nous n'avons pas encore parle des australiens qui sont des personnes très sympas, toujours prêts a aider. C'est incroyable le nombre d'entre eux qui parcourent tout comme nous leur pays en camping car ou bien dans des véhicules quelconques qu'ils aménagent, comme des bus par
exemple.
Nous rencontrons bien entendu beaucoup d'européens et particulièrement des Allemands.
Ce pays est très très bien aménagé pour le voyage en camping car, la plupart du temps nous dormons sur des aires aménagées et gratuites.
Nous avons fait différents arrêts pendant plusieurs jours notamment a Whitsunday, 1770, Fraser, Tin Can Bay...
A Whitsunday, nous avons découvert les différentes îles de sable blanc dans un speed boat. C'est hallucinant la couleur du sable et de l'océan, nous avons aussi fait un peu de snorkeling sur la barrière de corail.
Fraser island est la plus grande île de sable au monde, absolument magnifique. Pour se déplacer sur l'île le seul véhicule possible est un 4×4. Nous avons donc abandonne pour 2 jours notre hippy van, pour un petit 4×4. La conduite sur le sable fut très fun, nous sommes a
présent de vrais pilotes.

A Tin Can Bay, nous avons fait un arrêt coup de cœur. Nous avons eu la chance de faire une magnifique rencontre avec des dauphins que nous avons pu approcher et nourrir.
Nous avons d'autre part pris parfois des itinéraires un peu a l'intérieure des terres qui nous ont permis de découvrir de magnifiques paysages.
Nous sommes a présent a Brisbane qui est une ville très plaisante. Nous allons aujourd'hui visiter un centre pour koalas (je suis très excitée par cette nouvelle rencontre).

Australie - divers - East Cost

We have been driving along the east coast of Australia for already few weeks. We discovered a lot, absolutely wonderful sceneries, a very rich wildlife (scary sometimes).
Here is a little story. One evening, Sylvain was doing the washing up, when he found himself face to face with a beautiful snake. This one was going down the tree in front of Sylvain. Imagine how scared he was when he saw it.
We haven't talked about Australians yet, they are very friendlly people, always ready to help. We like the way they say hello ''how are you doing?''. It's quite amazing how many of them are travelling in their own country, at the same time it is such a big country. Like us,
they travel around in van, or any quind of vehicles that they will turn into a place to live in.
We also meet a lot of european of course, especially German people.
Australia is easy to travel, everything is well organised and most of the time we find free camps to spend the night.
We did many stops for few days like in Whitsunday islands, 1770, Fraser Island, Tin Can Bay, etc
We discovered Whitsunday Islands by speed boat, a lot of fun, very quick. There, the colour of the sand is just amazing, so white and the blue of the ocean. We did some snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef.
Fraser Island is one of the biggest sand island in the world, such a beautiful place. On the island you can only use 4×4. Then we left our hippy van for few days, for a little 4 weels car. We had so much fun driving this on sand, we became real pilots.
In Tin Can Bay, we had a absolutely lovely meeting with dolphins. We could get so close to them and feed them as well.
We also traveled a little bit inland and discovered beautiful places, and different landscape.
We are now in Brisbane, which is a very pleasant city.
Today we are going to see the koalas centre, I am so excited about it.

Australia - Cairns

Depuis quelques jours, nous sommes arrives sur la cote est de l'Australie. Petit arret a Cairns, ou nous avons planifie un peu le reste de notre voyage. A savoir, comment se deplacer, en bus, louer un van, acheter un vehicule...
Apres de multiples calculs, nous avons opte pour la location de ''Hippie Camper'', notre petit van babacool.
A nous la liberte le long des routes de la cote est de l'Australie.
Avec Sylvain, nous avons retrouve nos 20 ans.
Apres ces quelques jours d'organisation et de repos, nous sommes remontes la cote en direction de Cape Tribulation. C'est le dernier lieu le plus au nord de la cote est accessible en vehicule normale, apres cela il faut un 4×4.
Super, la foret tropicale a cet endroit est l'une des plus anciennes au monde. Nous avons longe l'ocean, c'est tres sauvage et vraiment tres beau. Ce qui est frustrant, c'est que l'on ne puisse pas se baigner a cause des meduses. Mais bon fort heureusement, il y a les rivieres (mais pas toutes a cause des crocodiles).
Nous sommes revenus sur Cairns par l'interieur des terres, ''Tableland'' qui est une region montagneuse.
Apres ces quelques jours fort sympa, retour a Cairns ou nous avons prevu une sortie en mer pour aller admirer la grande barriere de corail. Absolument incroyable, quelle beaute! Des couleurs tellement magnifiques.
Nous avons fait trois splendides plongees. Lors de la premiere, nous avons pu voir notemment des tortues, des poissons tres colores. Lors de notre derniere plongee, nous avons eu la chance de voir un requin.
On commence franchement a prendre gout a la plongee, disons que ca offre la possibilite d'admirer d'autres paysages.

Few days ago, we arrived on the east coast of Australia.
From Cairns we started our trip. We spent few days there to planify the rest of our journey along the coast. We had to make our mind about the way to travel, by bus, hiring a van, or buying a vehicle.
After many calculations, we chose to hire ''Hippie Camper'', our little cool van.
A sensation of freedom and being 20 again, that is how we started our trip.
From Cairns, we went to the north of Queennsland as far as Cape Tribulation. It is not possible to go further with a normal car, after you need a 4×4.
The raining forest there is one of the eldest in the world, so beautiful. We did some good walks and enjoy the wildlife around, beautiful birds and butterflies.
We drove along the ocean, such a beautiful wild coast. But, it is a bit frustrating to be so close and not to be able to swim because of the stingers.
Fortunately, we could have some good swim in rivers (but not all of them because of the crocodiles).
We came back to Cairns through the inland roads, and visited the ''Tableland'', which is a mountain area.
We came back to Cairns because we planned a diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Absolutely amazing, such a beauty down there, so many colours.
We did 3 very good dives, on the first one we saw turtles, stingrays and many different kind of colourful fish. On the last one, we were very lucky because we saw a shark.

Central Australia

Apres Darwin, nous embarquons pour le centre de l'Australie. Absolument impressionant, 2h d'avion et un changement completement radical.
En effet, on est passe d'un climat tropicale chaud et extremement humide a un climat desertique tres chaud et sec. Avec bien entendu tous les changements que cela implique, une vegetation totalement differente...
Pour le coup le depaysement est total.
Notre corps va devoir se familiariser, et a peine descendu sur le tarmac, nous nous rendons compte de la terrible chaleur. Et oui, plus de 40 degre pendant la journee, et des temperatures ne descendant pas en dessous de 30 la nuit.
Alice Springs est une ville isolee en plein milieu du desert qui s'est petit a petit developpee. Il y a 125 ans, elle etait une simple station telegraphe, afin de relier le centre de l'Australie.
Elle est aujourd'hui, un centre touristique important et le point de depart des voyages vers le gros monolithe rouge.
C'est donc a partir de la que nous avons organise notre depart pour 3 jours autour d'Uluru.
Nous sommes partis avec un petit groupe, ceci etant pour nous la solution la moins chere et relativement sympa.
3 jours absolument incroyables a visiter cette region, avec nuit a la belle etoile.
Nous avons donc marche autour d'Uluru (Ayers Rock). Un site non seulement magnifique, mais tres riche d'un point de vue culturelle pour la communauté aborigène.
Nous avons ainsi pu decouvrir d'avantage sur les premiers habitants de l'Australie, tres interessant.
Par respect pour ce peuple, nous n'avons pas grimpe Uluru, qui est un lieu trop charge de significations pour eux.
Nous avons d'autre part fait une randonnee dans Kings Canyon, que nous avons finallement trouve beaucoup plus impressionant, ansi que KataTjuta.

Australie - Uluru

After Darwin, we took a plane to the center of Australia. Amazing, such a difference in only 2 hours flight.
We changed from a tropical weather, hot but extremely humide to a desert climate, very hot and arid. With of course, all the changes such as a very different vegetation.
We have to adapt to this new climate and as soon as we went out of the plane we noticed the terrible heat.
More than 40 degrees during the day and no temperatures lower than 30 during nights.
Alice Springs is an isolated town in the middle of Australia.
In 125 years , this place has gone from a simple telegraph station in
central Australia. But nowadays, it settled into a new role as service provider for the numerous tourists keen to taste the outback charms and a certain big rock.
Then, it is from there that we organised our 3 days tour around Uluru area. We took an organised tour, that was the cheapest option as it is quite expensive around there.
But we were a good group of people, and it was nice to meet new people from all around the world.
3 days absolutely fantastic around one of the world's biggest monolith, with for accomodation a swag under the beautiful stars.
We walked around Uluru (Ayers Rock). This entire area is of deep cultural significance to the Aboriginal people. The guide gave us a very good insight of these very interesting group.
By respect for their beliefs, we decided not to climb the rock, it is such an important place for them.
We also walked in Kings Canyon, absolutely fantastic and Kata Tjuta.
